Living Roof & Wall Design

Whether a new build or a retrofit, we can provide a complete green roof or living wall design service for your living roof or wall.

A basic green or ‘extensive’ roof is planted or colonised by a limited number of grass, moss or succulent species. These are perfectly adapted to the relatively shallow substrate required and require minimal maintenance.

A living or ‘intensive’ roof is far more visually attractive and can support lawns and larger plants. However, the weight of these roofs can be considerable due to the greater planting depth. They also require more frequent and intensive maintenance visits.

Our team will guide you through the relative advantages and disadvantages of distinct types of living roofs and walls and how they relate to the constraints of your building and circumstances.

We will ensure that your roof garden or living wall is perfectly suited to your building with consideration to:

  • Intended use
  • Your preferred landscape features and plant choice
  • Available depth for base layers, substrates and membranes
  • Drainage
  • Irrigation
  • Ongoing access and maintenance

We ensure that all living roofs and walls are perfectly in-keeping with the building’s architecture and sympathetic to its surroundings. Contact the team today.
