Training and Development
As we start to move into the Autumn our contract managers minds will have one eye on their winter training programme. At John O’Conner we have established a Training and Development Policy that actively encourages all staff to take a career focused approach to their employment and we are committed to helping our people realise their full potential through continual improvement and development. This commitment is evidenced through our Investors in People accreditation which was re awarded in the summer of 2014
As a ‘people focused’ business it is our pledge to:
- Actively encourage and support our people to gain the skills and qualifications required to meet the needs of our business and to support their future employability.
- Demonstrably raise our employees’ skills and competencies to improve our organisation’s performance through investing in training and development
- Ensure all our people possess and maintain the skills and competencies required to perform their duties safely, effectively and to the complete satisfaction of our Clients from day one and for the duration of the contract.
Our Commitment to training and development is evidenced through the achievement of many awards, including Investors In people, National Apprenticeship Awards, Employer of the Year & Herts Business Awards.
John O’Conner Awards recognising our employee investment:
I believe on each of our contracts we have always demonstrably raised our employees’ skills and competencies. We have found it not only raises moral it also improves the quality and efficiency of our work; a real win win. It can also be quite inspirational for new starters to know that their Manager was once a seasonal employee or past apprentice.
Until next time,
Matt
